I know this has most likely been stated over and over again. Regardless I don't know where else to direct this comment to and apparently Chair was involved in the development or is seeking to develop the Advent Rising Trilogy.
I wanted to let Chair know that I would buy the game if produced. Hell I'd buy a console just to play the game if it only came out on console...
I've been PC gaming for well over 20 years now, and I've slowly become disillusioned with the poor gameplay and lack of engaging stories that are out there in games.
I picked up Advent Rising for my PC at my local GoodWill recently....
It has been YEARS since a game has had me this engaged with both the game play and plot. I beat the game and was so excited about there being a sequel! I immediately googled for it, and found that the production was cut due to poor sales and reviews.
I died a little inside... my hope for enjoyable gems of games like this has also died.
I played it through a second time to see the alternate cut scenes! and I died a little bit more inside when it hit me again that this game was not to be continued. I've even recently begun playing it on hard mode... I NEVER Play games on hard mode! NEVER! But I love the challenge and engaging nature of the combat system! how simple it is to move how fast things can be but yet how low key!
PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! if it is within your power, make a sequel! At least bring some CLOSURE to the game for me!
Again I'm sorry I'm sure everyone here is sick of hearing about this but I just felt the need to let someone know and I pray that it may make a difference!

If it helps... Get and read the comic. It made me feel a bit better. Havn't found all the comics yet tho. They are hard to get a hold of.

This is one of the most talked about things on here... but I don't think anyone is sorry that it keeps coming up. We all feel the same way, and its always nice to hear from someone else who loved Advent Rising.
FYI, Donald Mustard (if you don't know Donald, he's one of the head guys at Chair, and he used to be one of the head guys at GlyphX - this is the genius behind Advent Rising) has said here (http://chairentertainment.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28/) he would love to finish the Advent series, but Majesco owns the rights, so Chair is powerless to do anything.
The buyout of Chair by Epic has given me a small bit of hope. It seems like Epic would have enough cash to get the Advent rights, but I don't know if Epic is even interested in Advent (or what it would take to get Majesco to give up the rights), but hopefully they're both smart enough to realize it would be better for everyone if they figured out a way to finish Gideon's story.

It sure is an interesting development that could open a lot of doors there. I don't think there are many people (including Alex Navarro :p) who wouldn't like to see the sequel to Advent.

i too enjoy this game as for me im tired of playing the similar found in most fps games. in most fps games i play; is all about shootering enemy with a gun and thats it. but in advent rising here you can use powers and alien weapons and jump and dodging at the same time while using them. this adds some major changes in fps gaming. also with the mastery leveling you can do a whole lots of sweet action move in your own way. i even tried doing a matrix scene in the game and it was beautiful. and the vehicles in the game are always fun to play with like sycte doing a high 360 jump across a ramp. but the most compelling part of the game was its story it was so alluring that i play it non-stop for 2 days straight.graphically its good during time of it release and the music is awesome and so in sync with the game that restarted a check point to hear it again because of it. but the only problems with the game that really brought it down was mainly the bugs in the game and in my opinion the enemy not using everything around them to their advantage; like ducking behind a wall to advoid getting shot at or throwing a grenade with the other AIs fire at me. at every try hiding and ambushing me after i go past them. but in all the game should deserve a 8.8 out of 10 for a great game.
as for the gaming rights couldn't they make an expansion or a mod for the game so if they dont have a large bugdet they can cram in the most important stuff for the conclusion of the game. as for a mod a third party group can make it and so long as they give credit they can make it for free.

CliffyB + the Mustard Bros. + Unreal 3 = The Ultimate Dream. I mean, CliffyB is a really great designer, and he could probably help rejuvenate the series and bring it up to snuff, by inventing or using more modern game mechanics to help make it feel more fresh. Combined with the tech of the Unreal engine and the amazing engineers that Epic has, as well as the vision and direction of the Mustard Bros., and you have a bona fide recipe for a great end product.

hey maybe if scott card the others team developers and epix vasted enought cash they could get the rights to advent rising series. but since the sales for the first game wasnt good enough. we as fans should considered estbalishing some fan base and try to get more fans for advent rising maybe this will convinces epic to buy the rights.
and if advent 2 comes out i wont mind paying 60 bucks for it. well so long as it has less bugs than xbox verison and graphics are good (but not so good that we need to buy a $2k computer to run it. )
Advent Rising. the same feelings as the author of this post. And yes, I too am intrigued by the acquisition. I hope someone at Epic is a fan. Wait, as far as i know these guys only have 2 major games under their belt, Advent and Undertow. So someone at Epic MUST be a fan and I almost have no doubt now that we will see Advent continued, maybe reinvented although I dont think its necessary, but may help to secure new audiences so long as they arent' so different that they alienate the apparently small number of fans.
Again I'm sorry I'm sure everyone here is sick of hearing about this but I just felt the need to let someone know and I pray that it may make a difference!
Well, heck! This is actually why I came here to the forum in the first place. To rant at destiny a little bit, and hope that maybe it grants a little bit back.
I come here once every few weeks, just to find out if the world has woken up yet. AR was an experience I would like to finish, this hanging in mid-air is frustrating as all hell.
The critics who trampled all over AR were wrong! If they weren't, how come there's a dedicated community that still craves a fix it's been told it'll never ever get?
Who the hell cares about modernizing the graphics or slicking up the interfaces a bit more, just to hear the tech-sites marvel at how the game makes the newest hardware cry uncle. In my eyes it was darn near close to perfect, because of the story.
Finish the story, dash it!

Advent Rising has been my favorite game since it came out. I just joined this forum and I only found it because I was searching (and hoping) for any type of news on an Advent Sequel. Once again I was dissapointed, but it never hurts to hope.
I really would love to see Epic get the rights, but I feel like it's just slipping further and further. The game was ahead of its time. If it was released now I think it would be a huge hit...too bad it couldn't have come out a few years later.
I'm going into the game design field. I dont live far from Epic...best case scenario...I land a job there in the next 4 years and magically make everyone wanna make the sequels...I don't know how I'd do that haha, but miracles happen. lol. Too bad there isn't some major celebrity who loves the game and could back it...like Vin Diesel backs the riddick franchise...would be nice. :/ Oh well, here's to another day of hoping. :)

I google advent rising every now and then to see if any strides have been made in producing a sequel and I always expect to see a press release about it being in development. It was seriously one of the coolest most under rated games I've ever played. I remember playing and there being dozens of enemies on screen and diving slow motion while shooting someone in the head then using powers to throw people 30 ft in the air and then doing an attack throw thing and jumping on a 9 ft tall alien and breaking their neck. I mean the combat was just awesome. Not to mention an amazing storyline that just makes you want to know what happens next.
Anyway I just had to register for the forums to add my rant. I hope this trilogy gets finished.
Also I totally agree with another post I saw. I WOULD NOT ONLY BUY THE SEQUEL AS SOON AS IT WAS RELEASED I WOULD BUY A NEW CONSOLE IF I NEEDED TO FOR THAT GAME

Ill 2nd all of this, rather interesting that im not the only one who thinks this is still the best game ive ever played, and even if I can play the next two I would still love to see how the story turns out, I mean....it was just getting good.
And I always buy my consoles for a game itself, and the next one of this series would be so awesome with current gen tech.
